Confirm marriage-based conditional residence
An ordinary ten-year card does not require I-751 just because its holder is married. Identify the conditional resident, original qualifying spouse/stepparent, residence date/expiry and eligible children.
Review the correct filing basis and window
Joint filing generally uses the 90 days before conditional residence expires. Individual/death and waiver timing, late filing, divorce pending versus final and child inclusion have separate rules; do not apply one universal window.

Use the I-751 hardship standard
Extreme-hardship-alone does not use I-601A's spouse/parent test or require good-faith marriage as a separate eligibility element. Apply the conditional-period temporal rules and discretion review.
