Verify the K-1 fiancé(e) requirements
K-1 requires a U.S. citizen petitioner, both people legally free to marry when filing, a bona fide intent to marry within 90 days of the fiancé(e)'s admission, and an in-person meeting during the two years before filing unless the extreme-hardship or strict cultural/religious custom exemption is requested. Unmarried children under 21 listed in Part 2 may follow as K-2.
Verify citizen spouse and I-130 filing
K-3 requires a U.S. citizen petitioner, valid spousal relationship and required I-130 filing; an LPR spouse cannot use it. Do not apply K-1 meeting/90-day-marriage rules to an already-married K-3 case.
Understand NVC closure and child limits
NVC closes K-3 if the approved I-130 arrives with or before approved I-129F. K-4 can be listed without a separate I-129F, but later adjustment needs its own reviewed I-130/step relationship and age basis; do not promise faster processing.
