What GuidedForms helps with
Guided questions break preparation into manageable steps. Save supported personal details to reuse, review available checks, and download supported drafts.
What you still do
Confirm the form is appropriate, verify every answer, complete manual sections, sign, and file separately. GuidedForms does not provide legal advice or determine eligibility.
Editable official PDF draft
Review every applicable answer and any continuation pages. Each required signer reviews and signs the actual form; check current filing instructions before use.
Manual completion steps
- Compare every page of the exported draft with your records; check prefilled answers and all blank fields.
- Resolve any unanswered applicable questions and complete the indicated professional, government or signature handoffs.
- Review required declarations, certifications, signatures, dates, and supporting documents separately.
- Confirm the current form edition and instructions before use. GuidedForms does not submit forms or determine filing eligibility.
Step-by-step guide
What to check, gather and sign for I-865, from choosing the route to after you file. Guides are in English for now.
Check the route
Research reviewed 2026-10-03. Printed edition reviewed: 11/10/20. Reviewed October 3, 2026: landing accepts 11/10/20 and 07/17/15. Recheck current acceptance and routing when the move occurs.
Identify each moving sponsor with a continuing obligation
The sponsor reports applicable address changes within 30 days. Divorce or the immigrant's job does not automatically end support; multiple sponsors moving can each need a separate notice.
Keep personal case updates separate
I-865 is different from the sponsor's own noncitizen/pending-case address update. USPS forwarding and a beneficiary's address change do not replace the sponsor notice.
